South Africa’s first UFO Science and Consciousness Conference took place at the Linder Auditorium in Parktown, Johannesburg, at the weekend.
The conference featured 13 international speakers on various topics, ranging from skrying with crystal skulls to extraterrestrial contact and alien remains.
Explorer, anthropologist and archeologist Michael Tellinger organised and hosted the three-day event.
“Millions of people in South Africa have had their own personal experience with ETs and UFOs but most people have been too nervous to raise the subject. This conference will allow those in the know the freedom to express themselves,” he said.
The conference opened with Claire Janisch, a chemical engineer who presented theories on technology and biomimicry. American spiritual healer and founder of the Enlightened Contact with Extraterrestrial Intelligence organisation James Gilliland spoke via Skype about the presence of inter-dimensional beings, contactable through meditation.
On Saturday, Bigfoot researcher Lloyd Pye spoke about his ongoing research with “the starchild skull”, a grossly misshapen cranium buried in the desert for 50 years, which he presented as an expired alien life form. Pye’s evidence included fragments of mitochondrial DNA and the skull’s unfamiliar morphology.
Clinical hypnotist and psychologist Jennifer Welch owns two Himalayan crystal skulls and a jade disc, ancient artefacts shrouded in mystery and used in ancient enlightenment rituals. She travels the world with them, attempting to use their “psychic energy” to help balance forces along the 31° meridian.
Perhaps the most notable speaker was Laura Eisenhower, great-granddaughter of US president Dwight Eisenhower, who was rumoured to have been involved in a meeting with an extraterrestrial delegation at Roswell’s famous Area 51 UFO crash site.
Each presentation lasted an hour and a half, with all three marathon days starting at 9am and ending at 7.30pm.
The event was well attended by true believers and people who have experienced sightings all over South Africa.
