Cases of bestiality are on the rise around the world and in some countries like Denmark and Norway laws are fairly open when it comes to a person’s legal right to engage in sexual activity with animals.
However, a 50-year-old Turkish man has been imprisoned for allegedly raping a duck after his in-laws made endless calls to the police.
According to Hurriyetdailynews.com, the man’s father in law reported the case to the police after he noted duck feathers with blood in a bed where the man apparently slept.
The man’s father and mother in-law both told Hurriyetdailynews.com that the next day the duck couldn’t walk and they found the man’s shirt full of blood.
The National Council of SPCAs, spokeswoman Chris Kuch told The New Age that in the South African context the issues fall under the Sexual Offences Act No 32 of 2007.
“Recent cases of bestiality have come to light in South Africa. We confirm that criminal charges in terms of the Animals Protection Act may also be laid in such circumstances,” said Kuch.
The duck was found to have suffered deformation and its intestines were badly damaged, reported Hurriyetdailynews.com
