Seven people have died following a head-on collision on the N1 south, Polokwane on Thursday night.
Paramedics found crashed debris strewn across the dual carriageway.

“One person had been ejected out of a car, the rest were trapped in the cars. The victims included two adult females, four adult males and a male child believed to be approximately three years of age,” said NetCare’s Nick Dollman.
He added, “Firefighters were called upon to use the “Jaws of Life” to free the victims from the crumpled vehicles”.
Sadly, there were no survivors, all of the victims had sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.

The incident and preceding events will form part of a police investigation.
