A 38-year-old alleged Pretoria con artist will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s court today after the Tshwane metro police searched his surgery and found a goat head oozing blood in a bowl, eight wooden penises, and boxes of illegal penis-enlargement pamphlets.
Metro police spokesperson, Snr Supt Isaac Mahamba said the fake doctor was arrested and fined R500000 after he attempted to bribe the police.
The “doctor” was also found using fraudulent certificates which expired two years ago.
“We are investigating and hope to make more arrests soon. We want to get rid of those people who are a nuisance in our community,” Mahamba said.
He said the con doctor offered them a cream and required them to pay R580.
“We have embarked on stopping illegal pamphlet stickers around the city. We have up to so far achieved the following: 47 fines for illegal adverts, 17 arrests for pedestrians who were sources of danger, car washers and advertisers of hair salons, 18 illegal immigrants arrested, 45 dustbins confiscated. And eight street traders trolleys confiscated,” Mahamba said.
He said they traced the man when they saw an advert for penis enlargement: “We called the number and got an appointment and that’s how he was arrested.”
There were three men awaiting “treatment” at the doctor’s premises at the time of the arrest.
