Men can now ‘iron’ the skin on their testicles to erase wrinkles, thanks to a new cosmetic treatment.
Actor George Clooney once joked about the procedure during an interview with Italy’s Max magazine, saying that he’d undergone ‘ball ironing’ to get rid of the wrinkles on his scrotum.
"I never fixed my eyes, but I spent more money to stretch the skin of my testicles,” the dailytelegraph.com.au quoted him saying.
"I did not like the wrinkles. It’s a new technique, many people in Hollywood have done it. It’s called ball ironing," he reportedly joked at the time.
But now it seems, doctors have found a way to make this a reality.
According to the dailymail.co.uk, men have taken a keen interest in a procedure offered by Cosmetic expert Jamie Sherrill at her Santa Monica spa, Beauty Park.
'Tighten the Tackle' as it is called, involves using lasers to remove hair, erase wrinkles and correct discoloration on the scrotum.
Sherrill told the Dailymail that the $575 (R 5,743.06) non-surgical treatment has been a ‘raving success’ since its edition to the spa services last year.
“They thought the Brazilian bikini wax was crazy ten years ago and now it’s just part of the process . . the tide is turning - don't knock it until you try it,” the spa co-owner reportedly told the dailymail.co.uk.
'Down there the skin ages, it’s a thinner skin like that around the eyes,' she added.
The process can take about 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on what needs to be done.
The hair removal process takes 45 minutes and it takes another 25 minutes to tighten and improve skin tone.
Sherrill recommends around six sessions of the treatment with results lasting up to four weeks.
'It has a high patient satisfaction,' she told the DailyMail.
