Project manager Archie Tigere is pleased about the progress the production team, led by former Generations actress Sonia Sedibe, has made so far.
Expected to hit the small screens in the first quarter of 2014, the company has already concluded a deal with their preferred broadcaster, which they declined to reveal.
“Our Twitter handle for Johannesburg has been very active for the past week and we already sense a great deal of interest from the viewers,” Tigere said.
Just like the format of the original Real Housewives of Orange County series, which premiered in 2006, the local version will profile the lives of six affluent housewives and professional women in suburbia.
“We are governed by NBC Universal as far as format for the show is concerned, though there has been some leeway.”
Auditions for Durban and Cape Town version are presently under way. Wannabe reality TV stars in the two cities can send their profiles and pictures to: email@example.comfirstname.lastname@example.org.
