Those switching on to Radio 2000 from tomorrow should not be surprised to hear unfamiliar voices as the station has implemented changes to coincide with the start of the new financial year.
Radio 2000 unveiled its new line-up yesterday, which will coincide with the relaunch of the station’s website. Since April the station has been doing automation from midnight until 5.30am but that will be a thing of the past.
From April 1, former Metro FM presenter Vatiswa Ndarra joins the breakfast team to co-host the show with Justice Ramohlola.
Another return to the SABC will be former Metro FM and SAFM presenter Thabiso “TT” Tema, who takes over from KG Moeketsi as the talk show host on Monday to Friday from 6pm to 9pm. He will also present a music show, One ton of fun, every Saturday and Sunday from 6pm to 9pm, taking over from David Mashabela.
Mashabela will present Make a difference every Monday to Friday from 9pm till midnight, taking over from Doug Anderson, who will host the midnight to 3am show from Monday to Friday. “We are very excited about these changes and we are hopeful Radio 2000 will continue to do what it does best, giving people the best content,” said programme manager Bongi Gumbi Magudulela.
Kenny Nkhwashu returns to host a music show on Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 3pm.
The reggae music show makes a return to the station every Saturday from 9pm till midnight. The show will be hosted by Bongani Radebe.
The early breakfast show from Monday to Friday will be hosted by Bambo Johnson, while the weekend version of the show will be hosted by Xylon van Eyck.
“With this line-up, we are ready to compete in the market. The new line-up will coincide with the launch of the station’s website,” said station manager James Shikwambana.
