Residents of Gauteng, North West, Free State and Mpumalanga are to brace themselves for heavy rains over the next few days.
This comes after the South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a warning of possible heavy rains over the central and eastern parts of the country.
“The rain is expected to become heavy in several places around the country as from Tuesday until Wednesday leading to a serious risk of flash flooding,” SAWS said in a statement.
SAWS also stated that central and eastern North West, northern and northeastern Free State, Gauteng, southern Mpumalanga and KwaZulu- Natal will be most affected by the heavy rains.

On Wednesday, the heaviest rain is expected along the coast of KwaZulu-Natal where there will add effect of the low-level onshore flow of the wind caused by the ridge of the surface high-pressure system.
