St Andrews celebrates 29th successive 100% matric pass


The Class of 2017 at the St Andrew’s School for Girls deserve a pat on the back after achieving an impressive 100% matric pass rate.

This comes as Independent Examination Board class of 2017 matric results were released on Wednesday boasting a commendable 98% overall pass rate.

St Andrew’s School for Girls in Bedfordview, Ekurhuleni reached a stellar milestone having for the 29th year in succession achieved a 100% pass rate for all its matric pupils.

A total of 217 distinctions emerged among the girls with 97.3% of the students obtaining a Bachelor Degree pass.

According to the school, An average of 2.86 distinctions per learner was obtained by the class of 2017 and 38% of all results were above 80%.

St Andrew’s is among one of the top performing IEB schools alongside a number of others.

Crawford College Sandton is also celebrating an exceptional year of outstanding final results. The school also obtained a 100% pass rate, with a 99% Bachelors degree pass.

St Stithians College in Johannesburg had 29 distinctions among four sets of twins. Samantha and Tegan Green, who obtained 12 distinctions, are one of five sets of twins from the school.

Public school matric results are to be released on Friday.
